Sunset Red is the boldest of the standard ILUMA Standard finishes a warm, saturated red across the Holder and Pocket Charger, against four otherwise restrained colourways.
It’s the classic two-piece ILUMA device: slim pen-style Holder plus Pocket Charger, running Philip Morris International’s SMARTCORE Induction System with Autostart. No blade, no residue, no cleaning.
Coming From an IQOS 3 Duo or Older? Read This First
ILUMA Standard keeps the familiar two-piece format that blade-based IQOS users already know, which makes it the natural upgrade. What changes underneath is more significant than the shape suggests, and some of it catches people out.
| IQOS 3 Duo and earlier | ILUMA Standard | |
| Heating | Blade inserted into the stick | Induction, element inside the stick |
| Cleaning | Regular, with sticks and brushes | None at all |
| Blade breakage | A known failure point | No blade to break |
| Sticks | HEETS | TEREA only |
| Twisting the stick | Needed on removal | Never — pull straight out |
Do not put a TEREA stick into your old IQOS 3 Duo. TEREA contains a metal heating element, and forcing it onto a heating blade can damage the older device. The relationship doesn’t work in reverse either — HEETS won’t activate an ILUMA at all, because the device only recognises SMARTCORE sticks.
Cleaning tools become irrelevant. Old caps, holders, and charger accessories aren’t cross-compatible. The USB-C cable is the one thing that transfers if your previous device used one.
The two-piece rhythm, the session length of up to 6 minutes or 14 puffs, and the general shape of the routine. If the format is what you liked about your old IQOS, ILUMA Standard is the model that preserves it — ILUMA One changes it completely.

How to Use It
- Charge the Pocket Charger fully before first use — around 2 hours 15 minutes over USB-C.
- Slide the Holder into the charger to top it up; a Holder charge takes roughly two minutes.
- Insert a TEREA stick up to the line on the filter. Do not twist — that habit belongs to blade devices.
- Autostart begins heating automatically. Ready in around 15 seconds.
- Draw for up to 6 minutes or 14 puffs. A vibration signals the end approaching.
- Pull the used stick straight out, bin it, and return the Holder to the charger.

What Works With It
Every TEREA stick we carry: Japan, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Armenia, and the UAE edition.
Not compatible with HEETS or blade-based IQOS models. Sticks are single-use, contain a sharp metal part, and should never be disassembled or left within reach of children.
Other Colourways
- Pebble Gray — the neutral default.
- Pebble Beige — the warmer neutral.
- Azure Blue — clear, cool blue.
- Moss Green — deep muted green.
- Neon Limited Edition — limited run, subject to stock.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my old HEETS with ILUMA Standard?
No. ILUMA devices only activate when a SMARTCORE stick is inserted, so HEETS won’t start it at all. You’ll need TEREA sticks.
Can I use TEREA in my old IQOS 3 Duo?
No, and you shouldn’t try. TEREA contains a metal heating element, and forcing it onto a heating blade can damage the older device.
Do I still need to twist the stick when removing it?
No. Twisting was necessary on blade devices to release the stick from the blade. ILUMA has no blade — pull the stick straight out.
What happens to my cleaning routine?
It ends. There’s no blade, so no residue accumulates and no cleaning sticks or brushes are needed. An occasional wipe of the exterior is the whole maintenance requirement.
Does Sunset Red perform differently from the other colours?
No. All six ILUMA Standard colourways are identical devices. A bold colour is simply easier to spot if the Holder gets left on a table.
Which ILUMA model is closest to my old IQOS format?
ILUMA Standard. It keeps the two-piece Holder and Pocket Charger rhythm, where ILUMA One replaces it with a single all-in-one body.
