Why Silver Replaced White
The i8 sold in White. The i9 does not, and Silver stands where it stood. Nobody publishes the reasoning behind a colour lineup, but the ownership facts make the logic easy to reconstruct.
White was the i8’s most demanding finish by a distance. It showed skin oil, pocket dust and chamber-rim debris immediately, wiped clean easily but needed wiping constantly, and over long ownership carried the one risk pale finishes carry: gradual discolouration around the heat zone if care slipped. It looked superb on day one and asked for attention every day after.
Silver keeps what people bought White for, the light, clean look that reads as fresh against the dark majority of devices, and sheds most of the cost. A light metallic scatters light instead of providing a flat pale field for every mark to sit on. Fingerprints that shouted on White murmur on Silver. Dust reads as texture rather than dirt. And the discolouration concern that hung over a pale matte surface largely does not apply to a metallic one.
What Silver asks in exchange is small but real. Metallics show deep scratches more honestly than matte finishes, because a gouge catches light. How to Use It
- Charge fully before first use, roughly 2.5 hours over USB Type-C.
- Power on and check the OLED display for battery level.
- Set the working temperature, 200 to 300°C.
- Set the session time, 3 to 6 minutes.
- Insert a TEREA stick to the printed filter line.
- Start heating and wait for the ready indication.
- Use for the duration set. The device ends the session automatically.
- Remove and dispose of the used stick. One stick per session.

Storage and Care
Below 60°C at all times. The parked-car rule is a battery rule first, and it applies to every colour identically.
Silver’s daily care is a light touch: a dry microfibre wipe when it looks like it needs one, which is far less often than White ever allowed. Keys and coins travel separately, since deep scratches are the one mark a metallic shows plainly. No solvents, on the body or the screen.
