Neon is the outlier of the ILUMA PRIME range. Where Obsidian Black, Gold Khaki, Jade Green, and Bronze Taupe are all restrained finishes designed to be permanent range members, Neon is a limited production run — brighter, bolder, and not restocked on a normal cycle.
Everything mechanical is identical to a standard Prime: Holder plus Pocket Charger, built by Philip Morris International around the SMARTCORE Induction System. No heating blade, no residue, no cleaning.
Buying a Limited Edition Safely
Limited editions are the most counterfeited products in this category, for the obvious reason: scarcity creates demand, demand outlives supply, and a fake fills the gap. With a device rather than a consumable, that’s a safety issue rather than a disappointment — a counterfeit Pocket Charger contains a lithium battery and unverified charging circuitry.
Here’s what to check regardless of where you buy.
A genuine unit arrives factory-sealed. Loose boxes, resealed film, or “opened only for photos” are all reasons to walk away.
Charging cable, power adaptor, and documentation should all be present. Counterfeits frequently omit the adaptor or substitute a generic one, which is exactly the component you least want substituted.
Genuine devices carry serial markings on the device and packaging. Missing, mismatched, or poorly printed serials are a clear signal.
A real Prime weighs around 171 g and the body is anodised aluminium, not coated plastic. Counterfeits usually feel light in the hand and warm to the touch rather than cool.
A genuine ILUMA device only activates when a SMARTCORE stick is inserted. If a device starts heating with a HEETS stick or anything else, it isn’t running the real system.
Limited editions sell through and don’t return. If Neon is out of stock, the honest answer is to choose one of the four standard finishes rather than chase an unverified unit from an unfamiliar seller. The device is identical either way.

What Works With It
Every TEREA stick we carry, across Japan, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Armenia, and the UAE edition.
Cross-charging works both ways with the ILUMA i PRIME Pocket Charger, and Ring Sets and Wraps fit as they do on any Prime.
Not compatible with HEETS or blade-based IQOS devices.
The Standard Colourways
If Neon is unavailable, these are the permanent range members and the device inside is the same:
- Obsidian Black — the most understated, and best at hiding wear.
- Gold Khaki — warm metallic, classically premium.
- Jade Green — deep green, the most distinctive standard finish.
- Bronze Taupe — the warmest neutral of the four.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Neon edition different from a standard ILUMA PRIME?
Only in finish. Battery, heating system, session length, and every other specification are identical to the four standard colourways. What makes it different is that it was produced in a limited run rather than as a permanent range member.
How do I know a limited edition unit is genuine?
Check for factory-sealed packaging, a complete accessory set including the original power adaptor, legible serial markings, a body weight of around 171 g in anodised aluminium rather than light plastic, and stick recognition — a genuine device won’t activate for anything other than a SMARTCORE stick.
Why does authenticity matter more on a device than on sticks?
Because a Pocket Charger contains a lithium-ion battery and charging circuitry. A counterfeit consumable is a waste of money; a counterfeit charger is a safety risk.
Will it be restocked?
Limited editions are produced in fixed runs and generally aren’t reissued. If it’s unavailable, the four standard finishes are the same device.
Does it need cleaning?
No. Like every ILUMA device, there’s no heating blade — the metal heating element sits inside each TEREA stick and leaves with it.
Can I use Ring Sets and Wraps with it?
Yes. Prime accessories fit the Neon edition as they do any other Prime, so you can change the Holder accent and the Pocket Charger sleeve.
