AutoStart and AutoStop: What Actually Triggers Them

This is the feature you’ll notice on every single session, and it’s the single clearest difference from the original ILUMA One, which requires a button press. Most listings mention the name and nothing else.

How to Use It

1. Charge fully before first use — around 90 minutes over USB-C.
2. Press and hold the button for 4 seconds to turn the device on.
3. Slide the cap open and insert a TEREA stick up to the line on the filter, without twisting.
4. AutoStart begins heating. Wait for the second vibration before drawing.
5. Draw for up to 6 minutes or 14 puffs, with FlexPuff possibly extending the count.
6. One vibration signals the end approaching. AutoStop shuts the device down — remove and bin the stick.

What Works With It

Every TEREA stick we carry: Japan, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Armenia, and the UAE edition.

How does AutoStart work?

Insert a SMARTCORE stick to the filter line and the device recognises it and begins heating on its own. No button press is needed, though pressing for one second still works if you prefer.

Nothing happens when I insert a stick. What’s wrong?

Usually the stick isn’t pushed to the filter line, or it isn’t a SMARTCORE stick. HEETS won’t trigger AutoStart because the device doesn’t recognise them.

When should I start drawing?

After the second vibration. The first means heating has started; the second means it’s ready. Drawing after the first gives a weak opening puff and is the most common new-user mistake.

What does AutoStop do?

It powers the device down automatically when the session ends, so it never sits heating an empty stick if you get distracted.

Does Leaf Green perform differently from the other colours?

No. All five ILUMA i ONE colourways are identical devices with the same features and specifications.

Which sticks does it take?

TEREA sticks only, from any origin. HEETS and other non-SMARTCORE sticks won’t activate it.
