The OLED Display, Used Properly
The screen is the i9’s most visible change from the i8, and it deserves a fuller explanation than “better display”.
What it shows. Three readings: current working temperature, current session time setting, and battery level. On a device with two adjustable settings and no pocket charger, those are exactly the three questions you have. Is it set the way I left it, and how much day is left in it.
Why OLED matters here specifically. An OLED panel lights each element itself rather than depending on a backlight washing through a segment display. The practical result is contrast, and contrast is what survives direct sunlight. The i8’s LED display was perfectly readable indoors and a squint outdoors at midday. The i9’s panel stays legible in the one lighting condition the UAE supplies in abundance. A dry microfibre wipe keeps it clear; skip solvents on the screen just as on the body.
None of this changes what the device does to a TEREA stick. It changes whether you can see what it is about to do, in any light, which on an adjustable device is most of the point.

How to Use It
- Charge fully before the first session, around 2.5 hours over USB Type-C.
- Power on and check the OLED display.
- Set the working temperature, 200 to 300°C.
- Set the session time, 3 to 6 minutes.
- Glance at both readings, then insert a TEREA stick to the filter line.
- Start heating and wait for the ready indication.
- Use for the set duration. The session ends on its own.
- Remove and dispose of the used stick.

Deep muted green hides fingerprints well and shows dust less than the pale finishes. The screen is the part to protect: keys out of the same pocket, dry cloth only, and no long stints face-up in direct sun.
