Device Lock: the Feature for Shared Spaces

ILUMA i can be locked so nobody else can use it. It’s one of the least discussed features on the device and one of the more genuinely useful, particularly in a household.

How to Use It

1. Charge the Pocket Charger fully before first use — around 2 hours 15 minutes over USB-C.
2. Slide the Holder into the charger to top it up between sessions.
3. Insert a TEREA stick up to the line on the filter, without twisting.
4. Autostart begins heating. The Touch Screen shows preheating progress.
5. Draw for up to 6 minutes or 14 puffs, with FlexPuff possibly extending the count.
6. Autostop ends the session if the stick is moved or removed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I stop other people using my device?

Yes. Device Lock is set through the IQOS app and prevents the device starting a session while locked. It’s useful in shared homes and social settings.

Does Device Lock protect against theft?

No. It prevents casual use, not loss. It also isn’t a substitute for storing an adult product and its sticks out of reach of children.

What else does the IQOS app control?

FlexBattery mode, turning Autostart on or off, light intensity, and vibration settings. None of it is required — all the core features work without installing the app.

Does Digital Violet perform differently from the other colours?

No. All four ILUMA i colourways are identical devices with the same features and specifications. A distinctive colour is simply easier to spot if you mislay it.

How many consecutive uses does it give?

Up to 3 in Performance Mode when Pause Mode hasn’t been used, and around 20 sessions before the Pocket Charger needs plugging in.

Which sticks does it take?

TEREA sticks only, from any origin. HEETS and other non-SMARTCORE sticks won’t activate it.
