Description

Ask five people to describe this stick and you’ll get five answers. Floral. Berry. Citrus. Minty. Aromatic. All of them are partly right, which is exactly why the flavour is called Fusion.

Most menthol sticks combine two things: cooling plus one flavour. Fusion Menthol runs three at once. There’s dark berry, there’s blossom, and there’s menthol, layered over a tobacco base so they arrive together rather than in sequence. Nothing else in the Japanese range is built this way.

Crafted by Philip Morris International (PMI) for the SMARTCORE Induction System, heat-not-burn and smoke-free.

Three Components, One Draw

🫐
Dark berry Blackberry depth, closer to the Purple family than to anything sweet.
🌸
Blossom The floral infusion that makes this stick unique. Fragrance more than taste.
❄️
Menthol Moderate cooling with a mint aftertaste that lingers past the session.

The blossom is the variable. Remove it and you have a standard berry menthol.

The floral element is what people struggle to name. It comes through as aroma rather than flavour, sitting between the berry and the cold and softening the join between them. Some users read it as sweetness, some as a savoury edge, and both readings hold up.

Fusion Against the Rest of the Berry Group

Japan groups three sticks around berry and menthol. Here is how they separate:

StickBerryExtra elementCooling
Black Purple MentholBlueberry, sweetestNoneExtreme
Purple MentholBlueberry, balancedNoneMedium-strong
Fusion MentholBlackberry, restrainedBlossom, floralModerate

The Purple pair are straightforward: fruit and cold, varying only by intensity. Fusion takes a step sideways instead of up. If you like the berry-menthol idea but find both Purples too direct, this is the version with a second dimension.

Who Should Buy It

  • Users bored by simple profiles. If you can predict a stick from its name and that has stopped being interesting, Fusion is the one that resists prediction.
  • Aromatic-flavour fans. The floral character puts it closer to sticks like Starling Pearl than to a standard menthol, though Fusion needs no capsule.
  • Evening and slow-session smokers. Complexity rewards attention, and this stick gives more back when you are not rushing.
  • Berry-menthol regulars ready for variety. Same family, unfamiliar execution.

Reconsider if you want a stick you can describe in three words, or if strong cooling is the priority. Fusion’s menthol is moderate by design, since heavy cold would flatten the blossom entirely. For serious cooling, Black Menthol is the correct choice.

Getting the Most From It

  1. Insert the stick into your IQOS ILUMA or Lambda holder, colored end up, no twisting.
  2. Wait for the ready vibration before drawing.
  3. Take slow, unhurried puffs. Fusion has the most to lose from a fast draw, since the blossom is the first element that disappears under pressure.
  4. Bin the stick after up to 14 puffs or roughly 6 minutes.

Worth noting on aftertaste: the mint finish on this variant lingers longer than on most Japanese sticks. Pleasant on its own, less ideal immediately before a meal.

Floral aromatics degrade quickly in heat, faster than berry or menthol, so a heat-damaged Fusion stick loses its most distinctive layer while the rest still tastes fine. Keep packs sealed and cool. See the storage guide.

30 Days With the Complicated One

🌸 30-Day Log — TEREA Fusion Menthol Japan

Days 1–7: Genuinely hard to place at first. Berry arrived, then something floral, then the cold. Took most of a pack before the three stopped feeling like separate events.

Days 8–15: Slow draws changed everything. Rushed sessions flatten it into an ordinary berry menthol; unhurried ones bring the blossom forward properly.

Days 16–23: Compared directly with Purple Menthol. Purple is cleaner and easier. Fusion is more interesting and more demanding. Neither wins outright.

Days 24–30: Verdict: a poor first Japanese stick and an excellent fourth one. It rewards a palate that already knows what the simpler options taste like.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does TEREA Fusion Menthol taste like?

Three things at once: dark berry, a floral blossom note, and moderate menthol cooling, all sitting over a tobacco base. The floral element is the part most people find hard to name, and it is also what separates this stick from every other berry menthol in the range.

Is Fusion Menthol sweet?

Lightly. The berry brings some sweetness and the blossom can read as sweeter than it is, but this is not a sugary stick. It sits well below Black Purple Menthol on sweetness.

Fusion Menthol or Purple Menthol?

Purple Menthol is the cleaner, more predictable berry-and-cold stick. Fusion adds a floral third layer and moderates the cooling to make room for it. Choose Purple for simplicity, Fusion for complexity.

Is it a good first TEREA to try?

Not really. Fusion is easier to appreciate once you know what a straightforward menthol and a straightforward berry menthol taste like. Starting with Menthol or Purple Menthol gives you the reference points.

How strong is the cooling?

Moderate. Heavy menthol would overwhelm the floral note, so this variant deliberately sits below Black Menthol and Black Purple Menthol on the cooling scale.

How much nicotine is in each stick?

Approximately 0.5 mg, consistent across all TEREA flavours regardless of origin or intensity.
